Deion Sanders earned a Guinness World Record for the largest American football lesson at the CU Indoor Practice Facility in Boulder.
Sanders, CU, and UCHealth hosted the event, which drew over 280 individuals. The Guinness World Record adjudicator told CBS News that the last record set had 250 participants.
The site said that the Guinness World Record includes football training for 7-10-year-olds. Darian Hagan and Lance Carl, CU football alumni, coached parents and kids. Sports Illustration said that Hall-of-Famer Sanders witnessed the record-setting event.
Sanders coached the University of Colorado after retiring from football and baseball. He formerly coached Jackson State University for four years on a $1.2 million contract.
Sanders played football, baseball, and track at Florida State University after excelling in high school. He became the only player to play in both Super Bowls and World Series.
